Elections, take two

    We hope everyone had a lovely spring break, but we are back now! At our Executive Meeting last night, we had a second round of elections to vote in a new President and Vice President. All the speeches were great, but the winners were:

President - Daniel Laucirica 
Vice President - Carmel Tajonera

So congratulations to those two, as well as the rest of the incoming board!

Social Activism - Jasdeep Singh
Marketing Director -  Nikita Mukhitov
Internal Affairs and Webmaster - Bonnie Brent  
Treasurer - Mohsin Rahim

     We are still looking for a Program Coordinator as when Daniel stepped up into the Presidency, he had to relinquish his role in this office. If you are interested in this position, please contact kgoldsbe@trinity.edu for more information.

The Power to Give- Social Activism
Thursday, March 24, 7 - 9 p.m., Coates couches
Come out and make care packages and write cards to the Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio as well as Parklane West Senior Nursing Home. TDC will have supplies at hand but if you would like to bring your own supplies, here are some of things that are needed: blank letter cards, Markers, glitter, glue, stickers, small toys for kids, coloring books, Crayolas, Kleenex, toothpaste, lotions, and crossword puzzles.



Education and Equal Access: A Dialogue on Diversity
Monday, April 18, 5pm – 7pm, Waxahachie Room
We will be discussing how socio-economic status and curriculum play a role in shaping education in various places in America.Current events will also be brought up as examples of how these two factors play a role in education. This will include topics such as why the Ethnic Studies program in Arizona got cut after the anti-immigration bill was proposed in April 2010 as well as how Kelly Williams, the mother of two, got sent to jail after sending her two children to a better school district by using their father's address.
