This is just a reminder that if you missed the MLK March, it's okay. It's not the end of San Antonio's MLK Day events. The commemorative lecture is tonight and the guest speaker is Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X and an activist. This free lecture starts at 7:00 in Laurie Auditorium. Get there a bit early to get good seats; this is going to be a popular event!
This blog is for Trinity Diversity Connection: in it you will find access to required forms and important information as well as updates about events, ideas, or other diversity related information.

Buses leave from the Bell Center at 8:30 AM and the first 250 students get free t-shirts! Trinity has been the most represented college at the MLK March in the past, so let's continue that tradition!

Thanksgiving
I hope everyone had fun at the Fall Carnival and VSA/FSA Gala last week. The Transgender Day of Remembrance was also successful and I saw a lot of familiar faces. There's only one event left before break and it's a great one!
BSU Let's Give Thanks!
Monday, November 21, 7:30 - 9:30 in the Lightner Tea Room
Join the Black Student Union in celebrating Thanksgiving. There will be free food, games, and great company!
On a side note, I highly encourage everyone to check out the most recent edition of the Trinitonian. Inside is an ongoing discussion concerning Dr. Crockett's recent article as well as reactions to the Trinitonian's decision to run the controversial Horowitz advertisement. Both topics are incredibly relevant to the topic of diversity and fascinating reads. Some of the articles can be found here, but the print version has a plethora of reactions.
Happy Thanksgiving from TDC!!! Here's wishing everyone a restful, fun-filled, homework-free break!

Dialogue on Diversity and Fall Carnival
Mental
health is an important topic affecting all college students, which is
why the next DoD focuses on it! We are happy to have Dr. Neal from Counseling Services speak at this event, so do come and enjoy!
As you can see, the Mental Health DoD
will be held in Waxahachie on Tuesday, November 15 from 6:30 to 8. It should be a fun and illuminating
event!
Remember, if you did not attend the
first DoD this semester, this one is required for all officers. Light
snacks will be provided. If you have any questions or are unable to attend, contact Bonnie at
bbrent@trinity.edu.
Fall Carnival is this Friday!! This highly anticipated event is shaping up to be awesome! If you are working a booth, please show up on time and with energy. If you are not volunteering, please show up whenever you feel like it and have a blast! There will be face-painting, moonbounces, cupcake walks, carnival games, cotton candy, and more activities than I can remember. Take a break from midterms, papers, registration, and worrying about finals and celebrate Fall!!!!
Carnival is from 3 - 5 this Friday, November 18 on Prassel Lawn. Why wouldn't you go?
